GOODBYE 2016

For those of you who don’t know me personally, 2016 was an eventful year. It included the wrap-up of my high school days, making final college decisions, and then actually going to college.

I never understood the truth behind people saying that the adjustment of going to college is one of the biggest changes throughout a person’s life. Now, being halfway through my freshman year of college, I understand the importance of cherishing the time spent with family and friends.

Being dropped off in an unfamiliar place with people you don’t know, is the best learning experience. Yes, its tough at times. However, it forces a person to step out of their comfort zone. For me, I have always been a social person, but I struggle when it comes to doing things I am not used to…SPEECH CLASS. Speech class made me want to bite my nails off, and I never bite my nails. Public speaking has always frightened me, hence why I am a dancer and not an actress. But, I learned a lot. I realized just how many other people were in the same boat. I became comfortable knowing that mistakes happen and it is all a part of the learning process.

To sum it all up, step out of your comfort zone, do what you want to do, and don’t worry what others will think.

Cheers to a wonderful 2016 and an even better year in 2017!
